We just completed our first Montana Workshop a week ago. The weather was fantastic! Alta Meadow Ranch is at 5,000 feet above sea level, so in October it frosts at night, but during the day we had temperatures into the 70's every day.

The accommodations were wonderful, our private chef created some superb meals for us, we had live bluegrass entertainment one night, and the scenery was gorgeous. We all heard bull elk bugling one evening after dinner, and some students saw a herd of about 25 elk on the slopes the next morning. The final day we were visited by two bull moose as they grazed on the weeds in the fish ponds and stretched to feed on the willows. There was no shortage of great stuff to paint.

Two students who had never been out west, one from Arkansas and the other from Delaware and New York City, were treated to a brand new experience getting immersed in Montana delight.

Check out the WORKSHOPS section of the web site, third page, to experience a pictorial summary of our fun week.
